The Word of God is…

“…O, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord: to behold His radiance–to know His heart–to do His will–to see into the window of the Word of God…”

The Word of God is perfect
The Word of God has the power to change
The Word of God is like a hammer
The Word of God enlightens the eyes…
The Word of God is a light
The Word of God is a lamp
The Word of God is to be obeyed
The Word of God is unchanging
The Word of God keeps us from sinning
The Word of God brings hope to the hopeless
The Word of God is understood by the Spirit of God…
The Word of God is everlasting
The Word of God does not fail
The Word of God is sufficient

In our daily routines, we spend the majority of our wakening moments in the light of day–and when darkness comes, we so quickly mitigate it with electricity.  But, oh how dark this world really is–the spiritual darkness that surrounds us is teaming with wicked forces in the heavenly places.  And how easily this spiritual darkness is forgotten.  The war for our souls is raging in the inexorable battles of the everyday moments.

But oh, if we would take hold of the Word of God, which says “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path,” we would see clearly the road marked before us.  We would be like the tree planted by the streams; not sitting with the evil doers of our days, but shining the light of God’s Word into the darkness.

Yes, we would be a beacon of hope to this culture, because we would be a conduit of God’s love.

O, the Word of God is sharper than any two-edge sword. Will you put on your armor today?  Will you, as Jesus did in the desert, wield your Sword? Will you hunger for the Word of God to satiate your soul?  Will you feast?  Thy Word of God pierces the depths of strongholds.  Will you yield?

Let us together spread it abroad–how beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news…

O Father, we ask for Thy discernment and clarity to read and apply Your Words to our lives…to know You, to love You, to worship You as we were created to do. Amen.
