Hi, I’m Drew Anderson, a pastor at Denton Bible Church in Denton, Texas. I’m passionate about equipping Christians to live confidently for Christ through biblical teaching and holistic discipleship.
Staff & Stones is my writing platform to share insights on faith, culture, and life, drawing from Scripture and real-world experience. Whether it’s navigating difficult decisions, offering some encouragement, or growing in a biblical worldview, my goal is to equip, encourage, and inspire you to apply God’s truth to everyday life.
At Denton Bible, I lead our Gap Year program. This transformative experience combines Bible, theology, leadership training, and life skills to prepare young adults to build a life of true success. Before joining Denton Bible in 2012, I worked for years in the private sector (CMBS finance) after graduating from college. While at Denton Bible, I pursued some more advanced degrees in theology and leadership. What’s funny about all this education is that I never really saw myself pursuing a bunch of degrees. The reality is that I just love to learn and inspire others to do the same.
Scriptural basis for STAFF & STONES:
“…he took his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag…and his sling was in his hand…and he drew near to the Philistine.” 1 Sam. 17:40
