Coram Deo–before the face of God–Part 2

You will make known to me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.
Psalm 16:11

 Coram Deo–living before the face of God.  How has this week been?  Have you found that you are starting 2016 prioritizing and practicing the presence of God?  The Psalmist above provides some insight into how we might continue to live before the face of God.  He shows us…

  1. Direction…God illuminates our path…
  2. Source…God supplies our needs…
  3. Promise…God offers His people eternal delight…

The first attribute of God that we considered was the oneness of God–that He alone is God, and as such should receive all our worship.

This time, we’ll consider the Triunity of God–Three Persons, yet One Substance.  This attribute considers the fact that God is Father, God is Son, and God is Holy Spirit.  This unity of Persons is called the Godhead, and it is how God relates to His creation.  Each played a part in the creation of the world, and out of love the Father sent the Son, the Son obeyed, and the Spirit proceeded forth from the Father and the Son. Man’s sin separated all mankind from God–thus, all man is born in a sinful condition.  But God, loved man so much that He became flesh in order to pay the penalty for man’s sin by dying in the place for man–thus, God is both the Just and the Justifier.  He is just in that He received the payment (blood sacrifice) to satisfy His wrath for man’s sin, and He is the Justifier in that He offered Himself (perfect substitute) in the place of man.  This act provided the means by which the Holy Spirit may indwell man–through creating a new man (regeneration).  Therefore, through the love and free grace of God, the person and work of Jesus, and the power of the Holy Spirit, God has created a new humanity–such that all who (by grace through faith) transfer their trust from themselves for eternal life and right standing with God to the person and work of Jesus Christ–are saved!  Glory to God!  God, in His Triunity has redeemed man!  Glory to God!  There is no other–O Lord, there is no other way!

Rightly does the Psalmist say, in Your presence is fullness of joy–with Him we attest, ascribe, and offer a sacrifice of praise!  Glory–Glory–Glory to the Triune God!
