What is the business of the GAP ministry at Denton Bible Church?
To equip young adults for True Success.
The world has defined true success in myriad and diverse ways, and GAP seeks to reclaim this vision with a biblical perspective. Over nine months comprising nearly 1,400 hours, GAP students are equipped with Bible, worldview, leadership, and life skills within a Christ-centered community.
In a phrase, we’re attempting to do, as Francis Schaeffer stated, “The Lord’s work in the Lord’s way.” And so, we cling to the aim of Joshua 1:8, which presents true success as walking in wisdom–a type of wisdom drawn from the rich root of God’s Word, beginning with the fear of the Lord. From this point, we pursue walking in wisdom as a life yielded to God’s will according to His way, for the glory of God and service of others.
Naturally, our prayer for these young adults [and all involved shaping them] is that they are ready to take their place in society by standing in the GAPs with knowledge, understanding, and wisdom.
