He Must Go…

Basic to the nature of humanity is a sense of duty. Intrinsic to his instinct is a pursuit of survival. However, humility runs counter to his very existence.

It is into this state that a human interacts with other humans circling similar idiosyncrasies struggling for synthetic power.

A walking amalgamation of conflicting and passionate desires.

What is he to do?

How is he to live?

Answers have poured in throughout the ages. Each generation answering and even suggesting different questions to address the same reality.

And so, it is. And so, it shall be.

But, it is into this conundrum of humanity that a mysterious provision is proffered.

“…but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”
Acts 1:8

God’s plan of redemption centers around intervening into the very chaos of humanity with order and efficacy.

And this…is an advantage…

But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment; concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer see Me; and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.” John 16:7-11

Consider…

“If Jesus chose to leave this world with many feats and civilizations yet unmade so that He would send the Holy Spirit to empower His people to witness to God’s gospel into the midst of their present civilizations, then how–as a Christian walking in the conundrum of humanity–am I to live?”

God, help us.
