Stand.

Beside me the waves break day after day.

Upon me the sun beats its solar ray.

Around me the beacon piercingly appears.

From me the pilot wisely steers.

Beneath me the foundation stands ever firm.

Toward me the seeing eye has much to learn.

I am a lighthouse, and when I stand others perceive…

I am a lighthouse, and when I stand others believe…

I am a lighthouse, and when I stand others receive…

Reality from fantasy. Truth from lies. Hope from passion.

And so, like a lighthouse, the Christian takes his place, and understands…

That to not stand would be to exchange…truth for desire.

That to not stand would be to exchange…God for gods.

That to not stand would be to exchange…life for death.

And so, he stands.

Not upon man. Not upon his intuition. Not upon his experience.

Rather, his stand is taken upon the Word of the Lord,

The Holy Spirit inspired God-given Sword.

The Bible. The vision for life. The hope for mankind.

Upon this he stands. Like a lighthouse he stands.

Stand. Stand. Stand. O Christian, stand upon the Word of God.

Thus, he stands as he:

…kisses the sun with a head bent low…

…welcomes the dawn with an open Bible to show:

…that he is learning to see

…his heart bent toward seeking only Thee.

He is a lighthouse. He stands.

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.”
1 Corinthians 15:58
