What Happens When We Die…?

What happens when we die…

Will I recognize my friends and my foes…

Will there be a time for reflection or just mere echoes…

Is there more to this life than what we see…

Is there really even a place called eternity…

Can we know today that what we embrace will last…

Or should we live for the moment regardless of what will pass…

If there is more to this life, then nothing is the same…

If there is a judgment, then all things must change…

Can we not but see the handiwork of an Artisan…

Is there more evidence to indicate that this is all part of a plan…

We may not know, we may not feel, but if it is true, then this life must count…

It’s not a mere passing…it’s not a place of doubt…

Instead, every moment makes an impression…

An indelible mark upon a confession…

A unique opportunity–within the smallest spark…

Light transfers miraculously into the darkest of dark…

The Unseen seen in the face of faith…

Light enters and the sinner receives a cloak…

The heart broken for Him whose body broke…

An image given from before time began…

A super-human…a God-man…

Reality awakens with His last breath…

Eternity is spoken for…and there is a place of rest…

Christ, the King…

Marred and maimed…

For us…

To know…

That what happens when we die…

Is nothing more than His own lullaby…

From life-to-life, pass we by…

Upon eagles wings upward we fly…

To be absent from the body, one saint would say…

Is to be present with the Lord–In Paradise, you with Me, today!

Amen.
