Lift Up Your Head…

Lift up your head you weary traveler… Sing a song that is brand new.

Lift up your head you wayfaring stranger… Because He lived and died for you.

Lift up your head you weary traveler… Listen to the bird’s singing their songs of praise…

Lift up your head you wayfaring stranger… Because just over the horizon is the Ancient of days…

Lift up your head you weary traveler… Pour out your heart-song to the King of kings…

Lift up your head you wayfaring stranger… Because round about the earth salvation springs.

There is a time to weep and there is a time to mourn…

For from this the things of earth are born…

But, they’re limited in their scope…

They won’t have the final say…

They’re destined for judgment…

There was a price that One had to pay…

Lay hold of this Truth that shall forever reign…

Grip tight the hand of God whose hand holds you in the pain…

He’s not left you to wander alone…

He gives you words you can’t yet form, thoughts that are hidden in the slightest groan…

He’s right beside you all the way…

He hears you in the deepest places, and bottles as incense everything your heart shall pray…

He’s the omnipresent God whose ways are past finding out.

He’s the omniscient Savior whose thoughts harbor within them no doubt.

He’s the omnipotent King whose hand guides all things according to His will.

He’s the eternal Creator whose heart fashions His creatures for their good and not ill.

Lay hold of this Truth that bears down upon One who bore no blame…

His path was to empty Himself, yet despising the shame…

And so, He gives us a dented path in which to guide our tread…

The footsteps of our Savior looks beyond the moment…

And gently raises our head…

To the great beyond…

To a faraway gaze…

When one day, we’ll be seated with Him…

No more battles…

No more haze…

Eternal glory awaits…

Can you hang on?

Light up your head you weary traveler… and let your heart sing a new song.

“I waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me and heard my cry.
He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay,
And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm.
He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God…”
Psalm 40:1-3
